WHAT IF…?

I created this blog post with the aim of presenting my process as a product designer and innovator — from inspiration and research to the conceptual solution. The text is intended for professionals in the design industry, technology enthusiasts, engineering students, and anyone who wants to understand how an idea develops into a functional innovation. The goal is to show that design is more than aesthetics; it is a way to solve real human needs through intelligent, empathetic, and meaningful solutions.

Light combined with “What if…?”

What happens when the moon and the sun meet?
A question I have always carried in my mind. Two opposites, two different bodies, circling around the Earth. Like two contrasting energies and symbolisms present since ancient times, all the way to today. Masculine and feminine energy, silence and the explosion of life.
And when the thought merges with the question:

  • What if these two bodies could bring light into a person’s everyday life in a different way?
  • What if these two bodies could help a specific target group?
  • What if people could live safer, easier, more fulfilled lives?
  • What if things don’t have to look the way we’re used to?
In my mind, the idea appears like a spark — incomplete, unfinished, but strong enough to push me to begin researching.
Innovation is not born from coincidence. It is born from the need to solve a problem that others have accepted as normal.

Now I will guide you through a realization process:
The research process gradually transforms into the process of creation. First come the sketches — the most honest form of creativity. Here, I draw the thought before it becomes technical, searching for the balance between the Sun and the Moon, trying to capture them as two energies that circle, approach each other, yet never touch.
Then I enter the engineering phase of the process: how will the object stand, what will it connect to, which materials will I use, and what will support it without losing the impression of lightness?
The light becomes a story of its own — I shape its temperature, intensity, shadow, and transitions, as if giving it life.
Only then, in the 3D space, the idea gains a body. The model is born as a digital reality. That is where the innovation hides — in the precision of the line, in the quiet vibration of the light, in the shadow that dances — not just in an ordinary lamp.

The light and the darkness that long waged a battle in my mind are two poles that lead me to a solution. From that inner dialogue, from that eternal dance between the Moon and the Sun, the design I named

“The Flying Moon and Sun”

The design is not just a lighting object. It is a concept, an emotion, and engineering in one. An object that will fly, a symbol that unites silence and explosion, an innovation born from a single question:
“What if…?”
It is not just a lighting object. It is my attempt to translate human needs into a form that moves and communicates. In it, I embedded the quiet of the night and the energy of the day, transforming them into two intelligent light beings that serve the human in a way that is intuitive, natural, and empathetic.
The Moon emits a gentle silver glow—the same one that has soothed poets, travelers, and dreamers for centuries. Its light creates an atmosphere of relaxation, helps reduce stress, prepares the mind for rest, and can be used as a soft therapeutic source for those seeking peace within their home.
The Sun, on the other hand, brings warmth and life. Its golden light can simulate a sunrise, gently waking a person without alarms or shocks. It becomes a partner of the morning, supporting the body and mind in a natural rhythm.
It is light that, through modern technology, becomes your companion throughout the home, coming to you wherever you need it most.
Light that becomes an orientational guide for people with special needs, directing them through space.
And in that moment, “The Flying Moon and Sun” cease to be just a design—they become a presence. A quiet companion that communicates without words, understands without explanation, and brings you light where life sometimes dims it. It is a light that serves not only the eye, but also the mind, the body, and the inner sense of safety.

And what happens after we have designed the product? – we will talk about this phase in one of the upcoming posts.

The vision behind the design
This is the very vision of this design—to create an object that is not limited by form, but liberated by an idea. An object that not only illuminates, but participates in human life, improves it, eases it, and transforms it. And so, from a single “What if…?”, a light was born that does not stand still— but lives.
Each of us has our own sun and moon, and only when they fly together does a whole emerge. A whole that we call balance, harmony, equilibrium, LIFE.
This design not only visually unites light and darkness, but also carries the idea that creativity is endless.
